Investoscope App Reviews

Ok

Other than the pretty pie chart and the graphs, this app is functional but ugly interface. Helpful real-time or delayed data of my portfolio and the indices. Its ok.

Good

This is a good App. enabling home gamers to track their portfolios. The sellers are very positive and responde quickly to customer requests for additional features. I made two such remarks and got the solution within hours. I looked at other Apps and think this one is the best for the job!

No support or response

Dont buy this software unless you are ok with getting no support of any tipe from the company. I purchased it on the Apple Store a month ago and had a number of questions about its use. There has been no response despite their claims of getting back to you within 48 hours. I ultimately asked about geeing a refund as their website claims you can get within 30 days of purchase, and here again, no response. Very disappointing

Nice little app

This is a good app for keeping track of ones investments. It is highly customizable; ithas the ability to display your date in graph form, get news feeds, add notes and highlights. After several months of use, Im still discovering more ways to customize it.

Great Program to Track Profolio Returns

This is the best program I have found to analyze your portfolio on the MAC without spending a ton of money. I have multiple trading accounts on Thinkorswim and Tradestation and it does an excellent job and tracking investments and showing my returns. I do not find the interface ugly but I have to admit that I also use many window based PCs. Talk about ugly interfaces. This is not a kitchen sink program that looks at bank, stock and other financial accounts. Use this program to view returns on your portfolio. For the non professional trader this is the best program I have found. I find the reporting very good and flexible. One comment suggested poor support. I have email the developer three times and have always gotten an immediate response.

Forget importing from other investment SW

It doesnt know about QIF files. It will import CSV, but you must match the other programs categories with Investoscopes very limited set. I couldnt get the program to recognize (necessary to import) more than a small fraction of the transactions exported from Quicken.

Great app

This is a wonderful app that should have been around years ago. It is well worth the purchase price and the little bit of effort to get it set up and working properly with your investments.

Happy

I am happy with Investoscope, nice and simple design.

Very Useful

I have been using Investoscope for a full year -- as of tomorrow. Im an amateur investor and would have a really difficult time keeping track of the many stocks I have been buying and selling if I didnt have it. Im sure there are features I dont use, but it does all I need. Morten responds almost immediately whenever I have any questions.

Good program, great company

Even though this software seems expensive, its worth it when you completely organize your investments. The software does what it says, and it works great. The developer answers support queries the same day - you cant ask for much better service than that. Its definitely worth the money.

Great application but really needs a mobile companion

It would be terrific if there was an iPad or iPhone version so I can keep track of my portfolios when Im mobile.

Import very weak, and does not import from brokerage accounts

I bought this App because it has a performance report with IRR, this is unique and valuable, now, if only I could manage to import my data… After buying Investoscope, I realized that to get started, I have to export my transactions from my brokerage account at Schwab to a csv file, and import them into Investoscope. What a disapointment, this usually never works smoothly, and this App is no exception. After explaining what the columns in the csv file means, it failed to understand anything other than 1 single position out of about 50 that should have been there. The file is from Schwab, a large broker, its surprising that such an expensive App does not support direct connections to brokerages and import in a "live" fashion, this may have been aceptable in 1990s, but not today.

Excellent program!

This is perfect for the individual investor to track their portfolios. Support is exceptionally fast to respond. I had an installation question and had an email response within two hours - had a follow-up question and another response within an hour. I stumbled somewhat with the import until I realized that the transaction types had to be all one word with no spaces or underlines in the CVS file to correctly import (i.e. DividendReinvest insted of Dividend_Reinvest). Easily changed the CVS file with Excels find & replace and imported 11 years of transactions in 5 different portfolios with only minor changed that needed to be corrected. I would have rated it 4 stars, but support was so great I went with 5.

Rating of Investoscope

I purchased this software to have a ready review of my portfolio consisting of mainly funds. It did not do that. There is no help. It is a piece of junk. I cannot believe Apple is selling this.

Whats up with the chart?!

So, I regularly speak of my dislike of this program after paying so much for it. I will do a bit of that and then get into my newest problem. I paid an obscene amount of money for this program comparative to what it actually does. It has little to no functionality over an Excel spreadsheet with a few formulas save it getting daily quotes itself. The problem that I want to talk about now is something that I noticed before but I thought that I had done something wrong. I checked again through every annual statement to make sure that my records here match my annual statements and the problem still stands. Under the holdings tab, my total market value has one dollar value while the charts tab portfolio value has a different value. It is off all the way back to when I originally opened the accounts that I track. So the chart seems useless to me now and the charts and graphs should provide a great executive-type summary. This program is a purchase that I regret anew regularly but I still try to get some use out of it because the money is already gone.

Lots of bells lights and whistles

The entry of information is unnecessarily complicated, torturous and the results are hard to gleen out. You can do alot with this software, Im sure of that….if you had weeks and weeks to sit around and figure it out.

Best Portfolio Tracker Available for Mac

This does everything you need to track all transactions (dividens, distributions, splits, cash, etc)… Also has usefule reports and simple charting. Would love to see more dynamic reporting tool including charts- that would be awesome for presentation purposes…. Overall great program with TONS OF UPSIDE potential.

It is good but needs improvement...

NOW WORKS WITH MULTIAPLE MACS USING DROPBOX A+++++ First of all, this is the best I could find. However it needs to be better. I decided to switch from portfolio mobile due to many bugs. Here is what this app is missing; - App is not able download sector/industry info for a stock. You have to enter it manually. - App is not able to have diffrent currencies for a portfolio folder, which prevents you from seeing your total net worth in a single currency. You can however, have different currency stock in a portfolio but no cash in different currencies. - No Technical charting or charting of any kind for instruments. It just opens yahoo or google. - There is no iOS version I hope some these functions are added with future updates. This app has a lot of potential and has a great support. One day, I can see this app featured in a apple keynote! It does need to embrace Apple a bit more, icloud, iOS versions would be amazing and make lots of $

Well Worth The Price

I initially thought it was expensive but since there are few alternatives I purchased it and was pleasantly surprised. It functions well and is worth the price.

Very useful

I’ve tried a lot of these types of portfolio apps to test different trading strategies, but Investoscope is the best by far IMHO. Very simple, easy to understand. Yes it’s expensive - but I can personally justify it since I use it every day to keep my strategies separated and organized.
